Descrição oficial
Come meet art’s strangest monsters! A playful, eye-opening journey into why we invent them and what they reveal about us.
At what point does a powerful being become a monster, and who gets to decide?
Throughout art history, monsters have appeared wherever categories begin to break down: human and animal, beautiful and strange, familiar and unknown. Artists have mixed bodies, invented impossible creatures, and given monsters extraordinary powers. But why?
Why do we combine animals to create something that has never existed? Why might a monster be a protector rather than a threat? Why have artists long been so fascinated by creatures that refuse to fit neatly into a category? And why do we keep inventing monsters today?
This is not a talk about horror. It’s a playful journey through art, imagination, and the wonderfully strange things human beings have created.
When we look closely at the monsters artists make, we discover something about the people who imagined them and, ultimately, about ourselves.
Come meet some monsters. They may be stranger, funnier, and more useful than you think.
