Film Screening | Naila and the Uprising
The untold story of the women who helped lead the First Intifada.
Set during the Palestinian uprising of the late 1980s, Naila and the Uprising follows Naila Ayesh, a young woman in Gaza navigating love, family, and the struggle for freedom.
Through powerful animation, intimate interviews, and rare archival footage, the documentary brings to light the extraordinary women who organised communities, led nonviolent resistance, and played a vital role in Palestine's struggle for self-determination.
Directed by Julia Bacha, the film is a moving tribute to the courage, resilience, and often overlooked leadership of Palestinian women.
Join us at Casa Palestina for a screening of this powerful story of resistance, solidarity, and the women who helped shape history.
